As soon as my contract started with EMBL (European Laboratory for Molecular Biology) in 1993, I learned about the diving school which was running in the laboratory. For a long time, I had wanted to learn how to dive, so I went to the presentation evening and to the "try out" dive in the swimming pool. I found a very friendly team, a large amount of available equipment and enthousiastic people very keen of transmitting their passion for this activity. So I registrered with BSAC and appreciated the low cost of the formation and the high quality of the material provided. I then went on to become myself an instructor and pay back a bit of the time others had freely given to me. I had time to be the Secretary, the Treasurer and the Training Officer during the three years I stayed in Germany. Even though I am now back in France, I am still registered with BSAC, take part to the trainings when they move to France or south Europe and to the trips.

I am also a registered member of the "subaqua association", where I have the grad of "OpenWater Instructor" since September 2000, the 27th.

1997, I registered with a French club close to Grenoble (La
Terasse Plongée, affiliated to FFESSM
).
