British Sub-Aqua Club

As soon as my contract started with EMBL (European Laboratory for Molecular Biology) in 1993, I learned about the diving school which was running in the laboratory. For a long time, I had wanted to learn how to dive, so I went to the presentation evening and to the "try out" dive in the swimming pool. I found a very friendly team, a large amount of available equipment and enthusiastic people very keen of transmitting their passion for this activity. So I registered with BSAC and join the EMBL-SAC branch 1240. I appreciated the low cost of the formation and the high quality of the material provided. I then went on to become myself an instructor and pay back a bit of the time others had freely given to instruct me. I occupied successively the positions of Secretary, Treasurer and Training Officer during the three years I stayed in Germany. Even though after my return to France, I remained affiliated with BSAC for more than 20 years, and took part to most in not all of the trainings when the club moved to France or south Europe and to the organised trips.

	I also was a registered member of the "subaqua association", where I have the qualification of "Open Water Instructor".
	From 1997 until 2014, I was registered with a French club close to Grenoble (La Terrasse Plongée, affiliated to FFESSM).
	Since 2025, I registered with another French club close to Grenoble (Palmybulles, also affiliated to FFESSM).
Palmybulles is a diving club dedicated to children. The objectif is to start training them to dive using air cylinders as early as 8 years old.
